London: T.C. & E.C. Jack, 1912. xxxi, 459p., plates as called for on coated inserted stock, hardbound first edition in 9.5x6.5 inch blue cloth boards gilt-titled, decorated gilt also with a gilded-top textblock, untrimmed edges. A bright square copy with a few aesthetical flaws: foxing to titlepage margins and to a few adjacent leaves and blanks, thereafter scattered instances. Hinges are lightly cracked with faint gaps (holding well, however), top & tail rims of casing a little crimped. Front cover margins show a very faint haze of sizing-loss. Beyond these matters, quite sound and attractive.
