About This Item
This item is currently on reserve; please contact dealer for more details. Los Angeles, nd[1918]: American Institute of Banking. First Edition. Octavo. The first issue published by the American Institute of Banking to inform the Southern California region on major changes, recent legislation, personal news of interest and related categories. Neither NUC or OCLC indicates any of these earliest issues are in US Libraries (the California State University Library has the volumes from 1923-1927). Besides including announcements of adjustments spouses and girl friends are making because of their men entering World War I, it announces engagements from couples working at a local bank, and Miss Wunderlich who has been made Chief Ladies Teller. The interesting cartoons show typical every day banking problems with several showing women as rather dumb but interesting diversions. The volume is accompanied with an original photograph of the editor Wilbur Edgar Zimmerman (whose picture is also found on page 2 of the September issue). Both photograph and bound volume came from his widow, Pearl C. Zimmerman. More on W.E. Zimmerman can be found in contemporary issues of Banker's Monthly, the Coast Banker, and the Bulletin of the American Institute of Banking. Bound in black cloth lettered in gilt, spine plain. Near fine.
