The authors describe the workings of the systems of underground cables to propel the cars up the steep hills of the city. With several black & white photos and drawings. --- In brown paper-covered boards with gilt image of a cable car to front cover, gilt spine titling. Volume wrapped in brown jacket with views of San Francisco and cable cars to covers. --- A very nice copy, tightly-bound and bright though with pencilings to front free endpaper and slight edge wear. Unclipped jacket with a few creases, else in great shape.; Oblong Octavo (8 to 9 in. tall); (8), 152 pages .
