Description:
1648 Thomas Fuller Holy vs Profane State Joan of Arc Witch Endor Paracelsus
'The Holy State and the Profane State' is a 17th-century book by English historian Thomas Fuller. Through maxims and short commentary, Fuller describes the roles and life of every member of the holy state and the profane state (i.e., good people vs. bad people) – instruction on how to live a good life for wives, husbands, and children, physicians, merchants, notes on how to travel, service roles for bishops, and others. Fuller balances the roles of good living with those who live the 'profane' life – hypocrites, liars, atheists, tyrants, witches (including the Witch of Endor), and even comments on Joan of Arc as a villain!

Description:
1672 Court Songs & Poems 1ed Poetaster Robert Veel English Charles VIII France

Robert Veel was a 17th-century English poet, who, according to most poet scholars, was a poetaster or…inferior poet. While living a rather less-than upright lifestyle, Veel was eager to fund his habits and life of folly, Veel wrote poetic verses in hopes to amuse others. He died at only 28 years old, but before he passed, Veel published, in 1672, a collection of long songs, poetic verses, and drinking shanties called "New Court Songs and Poems". One is particularly curious – a love song from Charles VIII of France!

1724 Famed BLACK BOOK 1ed Arms Order of the Garter ENGLAND Heraldry Illustrated
John Anstis was a 17th-century English heraldry historian who served as the King of Arms for the Order of the Garter. The Order of the Garter, established in the 14th-century, was one of the most prestigious chivalric orders in all of England. Because of his involvement in the order, Anstis began collection heraldic arms of noble officers and members and published them in an impressive work that was infamously called 'The Black Book'! More commonly called 'The Register of the order of the Garter', this two-volume work features huge, full-page displays of heraldic arms with detailed memoirs of each member.
According to Wagner in "Heralds of England".
"Glover, Camden and Dugdale are formidable names, yet it may be questioned whether Anstis did not in strictly heraldic learning surpass them all. In perusing his manuscript remains one is constantly astonished at the breadth and depth of his scholarship and his mastery of a… Read More

IDB Productions, 2017-01-01. MP3 CD. New. The Conspiracy of Catiline includes the historical narrative of the unforgettable year 63. Sallust takes on the generally conventional belief of Catiline, and defines him as the methodical enemy of law, order and ethics, and does not give a full discussion of his viewpoints and motivations.

Sallust's Jugurthine War is a monograph of the battle against Jugurtha in Numidia from c. 112 BC to 105 BC. Its real worth is found in the overview of Marius and Sulla to the Roman political act and the start of their enmity. Sallust's period as governor of Africa Nova had to let the writer acquire a strong geographical and ethnographical history to the war.

Gaius Sallustius Crispus, often anglicized as Sallust, was a Roman historian, politician, and novus homo from an Italian plebeian family. Sallust was born at Amiternum in the country of the Sabines and was a popularis, an adversary of the ancient Roman peers of the… Read More
