About This Item
Garden City: Doubleday & Company, n.y.. Hardcover. Small 4to. Green cloth with gilt lettering, pictorial dust jacket. xii, 424pp, (153pp). Captioned tissue-guarded color frontispiece, numerous line drawings, numerous full-page color plates. Very good/very good. Jacket edgeworn and a bit rubbed, mainly at head and tail of spine. Tight and attractive later printing of this mammoth compendium, first published in 1898 and revised in 1930 -- this "New and Thoroughly Revised Edition" undated, but the $12.50 front flap price suggests a more recent decade, perhaps 1950s vintage. A lovely copy of this indispensable reference.
