New York: Fords, Howard, & Hulbert. Very Good. N.D.. Hardcover. Bright dark blue cloth over beveled edge board with distinctive gilt and silver design and lettering on spine and cover. [10], 11-454 pp. Illustrated throughout with full-page and in-text woodcuts "from Sketches among the actual scenes," by Edwin Forbes. Early edition, c 1895 dated by review laid-in, with reference to Forbes (1839-1895) death "last December" with one leaf of quotations and facsimile of letters from General Sherman and Major-Gen.
