About This Item
New York: William Morrow & Company, 1973. Hardcover. Small 4to. Black cloth spine with gilt lettering and mustard paper over boards, pictorial dust jacket. xiv, 364pp. Near fine/very good. Mild jacket edgewear. Handsome first edition of this family biography profiling the "First Family of American Conservatism" and bearing a choice autograph addition: Tipped to the blank leaf facing the title page -- an extra-illustrated frontispiece, if you will -- is a heavy stock 5" X 7" mat finish Photograph Signed of its most famed member, William F. Buckley. Near fine. On the blank right margin of an informal image of sweater-clad Buckley chatting on the phone, he boldly pens "For Terrence Kocsett / With Cordial / Regards / W. F. Buckley" in black fineline. Last name faintly smudged. Buckley (1925-2008) was the intellectual conservative author and commentator and long-time host of "Firing Line" (1966-99).
