Octavo. xxxv, 508pp. A careful re-issue of the English edition of 1684 as translated from the Amsterdam original of 1678, with frontispiece and all the original engravings, fold-out map and numerous line drawings of shoreline approaches. The last page of the index has some toning and with a Maggs Brothers notice bound in and dated December 9, 1922. handsomely bound in a newer 3/4 maroon morocco over maroon cloth, central gilt bust of a buccaneer over cloth pastedown, raised bands, compartments lettered and decorated in gilt, top edge gilt. Previous owner's name of Henry P. Frank, who served as chief cook on the S.S. Yarmouth and who loved the lore of the sea.
