Small slim book 24mo, approximately 115 x 55 mm, 4½ x 2¼ inches, 47 pages, bound in full crushed morocco, gilt decorated spine, gilt decoration to edges of covers with gilt name and date to upper cover, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Slight wear to top of spine, closed tear to margin of last page, no loss to text, neatly repaired, small closed tear to margin of page 35 just running into text, no loss, last 2 pages have an old ink family inscription: "Mrs Charlotte Altham, 2nd daughter of Peyton Altham Esq", previous page; " Was married to me Feb 2nd 1762 & died of small pox Feb 21 1763". Very good copy. ESTC T211696 list 2 copies of this edition, Lambeth Palace and Bodleian Library. The Althams of Mark Hall were one of the Landed Families of England. Edge of several pages have slight bend and small tear. Hardback with no dj if offered. Slight bumping on edges and spine. Blue cloth cover and spine has some fading. Condition: Good. Measures 7.5" x 5"
