Publishers staamp on endpaper. Book is intact, no prining defects. 415 p. w/ appendices, endnotes, bibliography, index. A fascinating look into the logistical support of the war, thought the words of one of the men responsible for the bridges, fortifications, roads, shelters and more that kept the Army of the Potomac moving, protected, and covered. Brainerd was wounded at Fredericksburg, but was active in most battles in the East, including the Seven Days, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, The Wilderness (actually put into the line), and in supporting actions at Spotyslvania and Cold Harbor, cutting roads and throwing up pontoon bridge for the moves to the left.
