About This Item

Good copy of two of Kokoschka's early dramatic works. Considered important precursors of the Expressionist aesthetic; Kokoschka called his plays 'Piloten des Expressionismus' ('pilots of Expressionism'). His early literary work can be regarded as a link between Viennese Modernism and Expressionism. Some brittleness and chipping to edges of front cover. Interior intact. Vol. 41 in the Series entitled The Last Day published from 1913 to 1921 in Leipzig by publisher Kurt Wolff and his editors Franz Werfel and Max Brod. The series was to become an important forum for Expressionist literature.
