First English edition, first impression (Eyre & Spottiswoode, 1957). The basis for the 1962 Dalton Trumbo film, 'Lonely Are the Brave' starring Kirk Douglas.
Publisher's original green boards with lettering to spine in gilt. very good or better with minor toning to edges, light traces of dustiness to top edge and an area of mild browning to title page and copyright, otherwise contents very nice and clean throughout. The original and unclipped dust jacket is very good with some surface soiling to lower panel and a few instances of shallow chipping and rubbing to extremities. A very good copy.
