About This Item

Los Angeles: Siglio Press, 2013. Limited Edition of 25 copies only. Hardcover. As New/As New. 186 p. : col. ill. ; 20 cm. Publisher's original paper over boards. Book Condition: As new. Dust Jacket Condition: As new. This book has been handled just enough to photograph and is pristine. Signed and numbered to the title page by the author (#16 of 25). Included with this limited edition is an original, one-of-a-kind, collage by the author. This small intricately constructed work is enclosed in a glassine envelope attached to the first free endpaper; it is both initialed and authenticated with the artist's trademark fingerprint in red ink on the back of the work. The limited edition sold out very quickly in 2013 and hasn't been offered by the trade (that we've noticed) since then. Included with this offering is a Siglio Press Catalog for 2012/2013, a postcard announcing a reading by the author in New York City on May 31, 2013 at 192 Books (which, sadly, we missed), and finally "Siglio Ephemera #7" also issued in 2013, and consisting of a squarish envelope approx. 14 cm. containing 7 pieces works on paper including drawings by Joe Biel, Fortune Teller by Karen Green, and Bird Card by Richard Kraft. An extraordinarily well received work by the artist Karen Green, about her experience as the recent widow of author David Foster Wallace, after his untimely death. The Los Angeles Review of Books called it "an astonishment", with reviewer and poet Maggie Nelson describing it as "one of the most moving, strange, original, harrowing, and beautiful documents of grief and reckoning I've read". Finally, we'll give the last word to George Saunders: "This is a profound, lovely, bitterly funny book that fulfills the first requirement of great art: it is magical."
