About This Item
Barcelona: the magazine, 1878. Hardcover. Collection of all 24 issues for the first year, 8p + folding plate - 23 plates (embroidery patterns) are present but lacks plate for no.5. Plate for no.9 torn out but remains (laid in). Plus: one extra ad leaf + two extra [regalos] litho'd plates, one being a folded chromolith'd pattern. Hardbound in contemporary quarter calf gilt over marbled boards, very worn but holding. The folded patterns fatten up the book and protrude along fore- and top edges to ugly effect, but true embroiderers will make allowances.
