London: MacMillan Company. Good+ with no dust jacket. 1956. Not Stated. Pictorial Cover. 108 pp, numerous illustrations including six full color, bibliography, museum list, list of materials for doll-making. Ex-library with stamps on title page and first illustration, front free end paper torn out. Pocket and Date due slip have been removed from back pastedown and end paper, leaving some remains. Spine a bit slanted, corners bumped, some edge wear and chipping esp to bottom corners and base and top of spine. A little rubbing, darkening to boards. Some darkening, primarily to edges, but text is unaffected. An attractive copy.

Illustrations are mainly in the unique style of the author as she captures the essence of the dolls of each era.
