About This Item

Oxford: Printed at the Clarendon Press by Bensley, Cooke, and Collingwood, 1815. Hardcover. Near Fine. Stereotype edition. Octavo. 406 pp. Bound in full black straight grain morocco, ruled and decorated in gilt, central armorial device with a crown over initials (A.A.?), spine with five shallow raised bands, titled and decorated in the compartments in gilt. Two bookplates, and an early engraved bookplate on the pastedown, and a later religious one on the front fly, contemporary binder's ticket of Hering of Newman Street, slight nick at the corner of the top of the spine, and corners a little rubbed, still a handsome, near fine copy.
