All text block edges are gilt with full rounded fore corners. One black book mark ribbon set into the headband. The pagination refers to the Book of Common Prayer and then the Book of Common Praise. The title page for The Book of Common Praise (it has a separate title page) reads: " . . . Being the Hymn Book of the Church of England in Canada Compiled by a Committee of the General Synod" and the publisher is given as Humphrey Milford at the Oxford University Press. No date of publication for either is given. The most recent preface present is "The Preface to the Canadian Revision of 1918" and the "Table of the Moveable Feasts for One Hundred Years" spans the period 1901 to 2000. Marginalia (page numbers?) on the verso of the front free end paper and the blank verso of page 739 and hymn numbers on the recto of the back free end paper. The leather covers show mild wear to the edges, the book mark ribbon is frayed at the end and the gilding on the text block edges has some light scuffing. Otherwise clean with a sound binding. .
