Milwaukee; 1934, 1934 and 1936: The Casanova Press. Limited Edition. Small Octavo. In three volumes, each limited to 500 copies. Interesting look at book collecting and selling during the 1930s. The author took a chance with his friend to open a book store with about 50 books on one shelf, from their own collections. Most believed they were crazy as Milwaukee was a poor book city. He tells of what books were selling and what was not and why. He talks about the collectors, publishers and more. The second book he writes about collecting modern first editions: 1927-1934.The third book in the series discusses collecting proletarian literature. He writes much about Aleister Crowley. A very interesting trio. Bound in green, blue and red stiff paper wraps lettered in black respectively. The first volume has a closed tear to rear wrapper, the third volume has fading to spine. In all, a very nice clean set.
