Tight and sharp first edition of this political thriller about a vice president's press secretary, penned by an actual veep press secretary (Gold) and co-authored by the spouse of a future vice president! Vice PResident Dick Cheney's wife, a noted author, civil servant and talk show host in her own right, boldly inscribes and signs the front flyleaf in blue ballpoint: "Dear Bob / I hope you have / a few laughs & enjoy! / Lynne Cheney '88." Robert Malott (1926-2018) was a noted Chicago business leader, CEO of FMC Corporation, Republican politico and philanthropist.
