About This Item
Cleveland: The World Publishing Company, 1944. Hardcover. 8vo. Green cloth with black spine lettering and bat decoration, pictorial dust jacket. 188pp. Very good/good plus. Text block moderately, evenly age toned as usual; jacket edgeworn and rubbed, but still appealing. A tight, handsome second printing of the Tower Books reprint edition, with delightfully funky "Madmen"-style front jacket panel art depicting silhouettes of men in suits plummeting from a towering stack of paper. "A startling and original story of crime," boasts this panel," by the author of 'The Thin Man,' 'The Maltese Falcon,' etc."
