Stamp on recto "Imperial Repro. Studio, J. Billing (Liverpool)."Photos from the collection of David Bacon, the nephew of Max Bacon. Before becoming a character actor, Max Bacon was one of the most significant drummers in Britain during the 1920s and 30s. He wrote Max On Swing (1934). David was the proprietor of the Heywood Hill Bookstore in Mayfair, London. His father was Harry Bacon, the preeminent London shirtmaker and brother of Max Bacon.
