Edge and corner wear with some faint creasing on the covers and a crease on the spine; store stamped on the upper edge of the text block; no interior markings. Ilse Koch - the Bitch of Buchenwald - has been used in a few films. One of the characters in Seven Beauties by Lina Wermuller was based on her. Ilsa She Wolf of the SS was also about her... sort of. And rumour has it that the character played by Kate Winslet, Hanna Schmitz, in the film The Reader. was also based on Koch. Popular creature. Ilse Koch was the wife of Karl-Otto Koch, commandant of the Nazi concentration camps Buchenwald and Majdanek. In 1947, she became one of the first prominent Nazis tried by the U.S. military - sentenced to life in prison. Koch hanged herself at Aichach women's prison in September 1967 at age 60.
