Each card presents a striking Art Deco multicolored lithograph and various coloured borders and decorations printed upon folded heavy card stock. Early in the 1920s Charles Mather, who worked for his family’s Chicago printing house, the Mather Company, took an idea brought to him by one of the firm’s salesmen, Charles Howard Rosenfeld. What Rosenfeld proposed was a series of posters whose focus was to give workers incentive to work better and to work harder. Broadside, measuring 29 by 41 inches, closely framed. $6000.Very large original movie poster produced for the 1921 re-release of D.W. Griffith's pioneering film, The Birth of a Nation.Griffith's dramatization of the American Civil War and Reconstruction, based on Thomas Dixon's 1905 novel The Clansmen, was immediately controversial for its racist depiction of African Americans and its heroic portrayal of the Ku Klux Klan; it is now considered instrumental in the revival of the KKK in the 1920s. The poster, composed entirely of text in red and black within a black border, reads: ""The Supreme Picture / Of All Time! / Birth / Of A / Nation / D.W. Griffith's / 8th Wonder of the World / 18,000 People / 3,000 Horses / 3 Years to Produce!"" First released in 1915, the 1921 re-release elicited the comment ""The supreme picture of all time"" from the New York Mail, used here as the opening line. This rare poster may be an example of a job printing for a local movie house. Fine condition.

No binding. Very Good. Fine Art Print Vintage original 40 x 30" (100 x 75 cm.) three-sheet poster, USA. Jeff Morrow, Faith Domergue, Rex Reason, Lance Fuller, Russell Johnson, dir: Joseph M. Newman, Jack Arnold: Universal. Poster is rolled and displays a fair amount of creasing at edges, particularly at the top and bottom. There is inner creasing, more evident in the title box area. Tears at edges have been repaired with brown tape and there are a few small unrepaired edge tears. The top image portion with portrait of Domergue and Reason and the alien to the right is a pasteover and the foot area of the alien has lifted slightly, very good.One of the top science fiction classics of the 1950s. The story involved aliens coming to Earth to engage scientists in a scheme to wage war and destroy the planet.
