Each volume with an engraved frontis portrait and an engraved vignette on the decorative title page, the latter of which are partially hand colored in Parts II and III. Part I is 315 pages, plus 34 hand colored plates of 34 called for. Part II is 409 pages, plus 30 hand colored plates of 32 called for. Part III is 349 pages, plus 34 hand colored plates of 34 called for. Part IV is 313 pages, plus 31 hand colored plates of 33 called for. There seems to be some variation in the number of plates called for and included in the different reprints, and there is no indication of any plates being removed from these volumes. Each volume is housed in its original red cloth covers with gilt stamped lettering, and gilt and blind stamped decoration. The top edge of each volume is gilded. Tissue guards protect each plate. For the most part the leaves remain un-opened, though a few have been roughly cut resulting in a few tears in the margins. Two of the volumes show a little spine lean. A few corners are bumped and cloth covers show scattered light wear. There are book plates on the front end leaves, as well as a few notations. All four volumes remain fairly tight, and they are clean. Plates are generally in very good condition. . Reprint. Cloth - Hard Cover. Good/No Dust Jacket. 10mo.
