The text is illustrated with black-and-white photographs, tables, figures and sketches throughout the text. Dark blue cloth covered boards with gilt titles to the front panel and backstrip. Bumping to the backstrip edges and rubbing to the book corners. A few marks to the cloth of the board and rubbing along the backstrip edge on the rear cover. Browning and foxing to the text block edges. The remains of tape can be seen on both the front and rear endpapers and handling marks are also present. Original bookseller's sticker to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste-down. The hinge has cracked at the rear of the book and a previous owner has attempted repair with tape, the tape is still in situ.
