NY: Thornwillow Press, 1993. Pontifell, Luke Ives. Small quarto. (13)ff. One of 150 copies in the deluxe binding, signed by Warren E. Burger, Chief Justice of the United States from 1969 to 1986, who supplied the Introduction. Burger's exposition on the enduring need and potency of the Bill of Rights is followed by the ten facets of the Bill itself. The constant evolution of the Bill of Rights epitomizes the perpetual drive for societal betterment, equality, and equity which motivated the founding of the United States and continues to inspire activism in communities across the world. Its amendments reflect an earnest reanalysis, and ultimate acknowledgement, of what freedom truly looks like and that it truly belongs to all. Frontispiece showing the scales of justice against an open landscape. Printed in Monotype Centaur and Arrighi by Michael and Winifred Bixler, on paper which is the first to bear the Thornwillow watermark. Bound by Miroslava and Lubomir Krupka in full moroccan goatskin with blind rules to the covers and a solitary "B" blind-stamped to the spine. Fine, housed in a suede-lined clamshell box.
