Geoffrey Cumerlege / Oxford University Press, London, 1940. First Edition. Softcover. Fair Condition/No Dust Jacket. Illustrator: Norman Howard. list of illustrations. The text is illustrated with 6 black and white illustrations by Norman Howard. Plain card cover with green coloured decoration and titles to the front panel and green coloured titles to the backstrip. Title says it all. First published in 1940. Creasing of the book corners, and first few pages, top right hand corner, with rubbing of the book edges and panels. There is a small tear to the top left-hand corner of the front panel. Fading of the book extremities and either side of the backstrip. The major damage to the book has been incredible insect damage to the backstrip along with foxing spots  please see photograph. Age toning and some marks to the textblock edges and lighter age toning to the pages. Foxing to the first few and last few pages of the book. First edition of the work in this format and binding, and/or set or series. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 255, [1]pages,. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Norman Howard.
