Jacket edgeworn, with bit of discoloring at binding lower edge; small ownership signature on title page and copyright page. A tight, nice undated later printing (ca. mid-1960s based on binding and jacket) of #87, a collection of "43 Stories by 31 Authors," as the front jacket panel proclaims, featuring works by Artemus Ward, Joel Chandler Harris, Bret Harte, Damon Runyon, James M. Cain , Ellis Parker Butler, Booth Tarkington, Sinclair Lewis and many others. Delightful front jacket panel caricatures of Dorothy Parker, Mark Twain, Robert Benchley, James Thurber and S.J. Perelman.
