About This Item

B & H White Publications Ltd., 1948. Very Good. 8vo., pp.128. Light blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Very good, with light bumping to bottom corners, minor sunning to upper edges. Ownership inscription to ffep: 'H. Ellis' (not Havelock!), a trace of foxing to endpapers. In original DJ with arresting photograph of Shaw - shelf-wear, nicking. Comprises a time line and 238 photographs, "including many taken by Mr. Shaw, selected and introduced by his Bibliographer and Remembrancer[/] F. E. Loewenstein" (title page). Published towards the end of his life, the photographs capture both the private and public G.B.S., including numerous art works of him.
