Six black and white plates featuring actors of the day such as Mrs. Ward, Mr. Smith, Mr. Bensley, Mrs. Barry and Mrs. Hartley. Bound in burgundy half leather with marbled paper boards. Spine label incorrectly states date of publication as 1780. Edges worn. Reference label on front pastedown. Page 59 in first play is chipped in margin. Small tears in first plate. A touch of foxing.

Contains five plays by 18th-century British playwrights: "The Royal Convert" by Nicholas Rowe; "Alexander the Great" by Nathaniel Lee; "Mahomet The Imposter" by Rev. Mr. Miller; "Theodosius; or, The Force of Love" by Nathaniel Lee; and "Lady Jane Grey" by Nicholas Rowe. Bound copies originally printed in Edinburgh at the Apollo Press, by the Martins, for Bell in 1782.
