This work is an interesting look at the roots of modern submarine warfare, looking at the influence of David Bushnell. David Bushnell was credited with having created the first ever submarine used in combat whilst he was studying at Yale. By Henry Larcom Abbot. Abbot was a military engineer and officer in the United States Army. He also wrote a selection of works about the Panama Canal, as well as serving as a consultant for the locks on the Canal.
