London: Ward, Lock and Taylor, 1873. undated (but 1873), original gilt and blind-stamped cloth, somewhat rubbed, front inner hinge cracked, first few leaves re-glued in, 384 pages plus publisher's catalogue at end, frontispiece colour illustration and numerous woodcuts. all edges gilt, book well used as one might expect of an anthology of ripping yarns, natural history and other science items,verse, travel, etc., calculated to appeal to adventurous Victorian-era youngsters.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
