In the original gilt decorated blue cloth bindings with all page edges gilt. Vols I and II have been rebacked retaining most of the original spines and all have professional reinforcement to the endpaper joints. All have the decorative bookplate of Graham Watson to the front pastedown. The pagination in Vols I and II is unusual in that some of it is in 16 page sections, suggesting that these were first issues distributed in parts. Vol I: binding bright to front board, rear board with scuffing; bump to top front corner. Internally gift inscription to fep. Contents: frontispiece with tissue guard, title, ad, contents and plate list (with each plate ticked), introduction pp xx; text with 11 further plates and pp numbered 1-92; 1-16; 1-16; 1-16; 1-15; 1-16; 1-16 - this numbering is reflected in the contents listing.
