This is the correspondence between Ronald Ross, a British doctor awarded the Nobel Prize in 1902 for his research in India that proved the role of mosquitoes in the transmission of malaria; and his mentor, Patrick Manson, a Scottish doctor, the founder of the field of tropical medicine who made important discoveries in parasitology and proposed the theory that mosquitoes carried the parasitic agent that caused malaria; includes 173 letters during Ross' research in India, and 85 letters after his return to Britain as well as an introduction by the editors, a glossary, biographical appendix, and bibliography (light yellow & dark blue cover with portraits of Ross & Manson, very faint small crease on front; otherwise a bright, clean, tight copy in nearly perfect condition; in stock & available for immediate shipment from an independent bookstore).
