Book's spine ends & DJ worn. DJ with $3.75 price. . Dark blue boards with red lettering & USMC symbol. Spine ends with short closed tears. NEAR FINE between the covers. No glue browned pastedowns, soiling, foxing, marginalia BUT leaf edges aged a bit. Bright & attractive book & DJ. Uris' first book. About how a disparate group of men become a unit. The book, and then the movie, dealt with sex, adultery, pregnancy and drinking in a manner seldom seen in the 1950s. Both book & movie (with Uris' screenplay) were commercial successes. .
