El Segundo: Mattel, Inc, 1998. 64p., high-gloss paperstock and color photographs throughout, with several inset portraits of doll designers. Upright 11 x 6 inch staplebound self-wraps, mild crimping near spinefold, mailing label, otherwise faintest signs of handling. Mostly white dolls, the usual glamour stuff plus contemporary subgenres like [several different] country-and-western singer types. Also several exclusively African American dolls, an Asian doll or two, and a dozen or so available in white or black people. Find a couple of porcelain models, celebrity dolls like Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's, "inspired" dolls like one "inspired" by Van Gogh's paintings of sunflowers, and [what most struck this cataloguer] a sort of surrealist-costume doll called "Rendevous Barbie
