Red paper covered boards, green cloth spine, pictorial paste-on to front cover. 12 tipped-in color plates with accompanying verse. Covers worn, scuffed and lightly soiled. Text and illustrations are age-toned but clean, one short tear to frontispiece, a few pages loose, endpapers darkened , pencilled inscription on front endpaper dated September 27, 1913.

London: Henry Frowde, Hodder and Stoughton, 1910. a much-used book, corners frayed, covers worn, part of spine loose, one illustration with nearly half missing, some foxing throughout text, binding though sound, eleven of the twelve pasted in colour plates in very good condition. A book in the style of children's annuals celebrating the British martial and imperial spirit, very much of its time and impossible to publish after World War One (until now, perhaps). Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Fair/No Jacket.
