London: Sands & Co., 1902. The "Lays" is the major work by the Scottish lawyer and poet (William Edmonstoune) Aytoun (1813-1865). Sands reprinted it several times during the 1890s in trade cloth. This is a Near Fine copy of a Later Printing in a nice full leather Fine Binding. Uncommon thus. Smooth green calf, ruled in gilt, witha coat-of-arms on both covers. Five raised bands on the spine, with gilt starbursts and a reprise of the cover designs. Clean text; 245 pages; marbled edges. There is some light fading around the margins; else a Fine copy. A worthy representattive to any library.. Reprint Edition. Full-Leather. Near Fine/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
