About This Item
Los Angeles, 1965. unbound. 2 pages (front and back) on personal letterhead, 10 x 8 inches, Los Angeles, February 3, 1965. Written to powerful Philadelphia Inquirer critic Harry Harris, thanking him for a positive review, in small part: "...I read your review of a T.V. effort I was involved in called the 'American Sportsman' and found it interesting. The premise of the show was to take two guys to Africa who had never been on Safari. Anyway, this is not an apology for hunters or hunting... anymore than a meat eater could defend his appetite to a vegetarian. I am only sorry if any segment of the television audience finds it objectionable..." This was written in the days when a critic could make or break an actor's career. Accompanied by the original handwritten envelope. Near fine condition.
