New York: Farrar & Rinehart, Inc, 1935. Hard Cover. Very Good. Octavo. TWO VOLUMES. Complete Set. SIGNED AND INSCRIBED BY JOHN HAYS HAMMOND TO AUTHOR AND ACTRESS ANITA LOOS IN VOLUME ONE. Her striking and colorful art deco bookplates are in each volume. 813pp. Illustrated in black and white, bound in green cloth lettered in gilt, spine lettering gilt, spines faded, a few tiny spots to covers otherwise a very good set house in publisher's slipcase with pictorial paper labels. Hammond was a mining engineer, diplomat and philanthropist. He was incharge of mining at Cecil Rhodes' mines in South Africa. Hammond was friends with President William Howard Taft and was appointed special United States Ambassador. Anita Loos was a screenwriter, playwright, author and actress best known for her novel "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes."
