The 1st 43 pages are illustrated with reproductions of documents and also black-and-white photographs. The accompanying text gives a history of the opening of South Australia through mining. Page 44 has a colour map "Part of South Australia, Showing the Mining Districts", and then follows the reproduction of 31 colour paintings by ST Gill, many of which are held by the Art Gallery of South Australia. X-library, with stamps and cancellation marks to the rear end pages, and title page and the next 2 pages. The dustjacket is robbed across top and bottom edges, and library stamp on the top and bottom of the text block. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
