Kilburn, South Australia: Australian Flying Saucer Research Society, 1959. First Edition . Wrappers. About near Fine. Octavo. Kilburn, South Australia: Australian Flying Saucer Research Society, 1959. First Edition of the Volume 5, No. 4 issue, third quarter of 1959. From the collection of noted UFOlogist Max Miller. Octavo, illustrated stapled wraps, 20 pp. Light age toning to paper, mailing fold, else, really, near fine. A very sharp and well preserved copy of this UFO-historical newsletter from Down Under. An improved production by editor Stone from the preceding year of his largely self-written analysis and review, with, by this time, illustrated covers and simple interior graphics. In this issue: after an interesting Stone editorial, "The Changing Scene...Coincidence Or ?" (about the inexplicable retreat of some leading UFOlogists) is the feature article, "Further Strange Writings!", which includes reproductions of apparently channeled - and possibly alien - handwritten script, as well as some hiereoglyphic symbols which had been written down by a 17-year-old Brazilian boy after meeting a "strange man" who "came down" to him from a 6 meter diameter luminous disk; "The End of the World" (Mia-Sehpac), about signs from ancient writings and current events; followed by pages of Australian UFO sightings reports, culminating with the most celebrated of those in this issue, the Jamestown (Australia) sighting. Also, a 1 1/2 page excerpt from Immanuel Velikovsky's "Earth in Upheaval". Copies from this era are scarce as hen's teeth, in any condition. Nicely preserved in the collection of Flying Saucers International founder Max Miller. L103

Octavo, illustrated stapled wraps, 24 pp. Even cover toning, mailing fold, and , sadly, Max Miller has excised a depiction of "The Cartwright Saucer Detector" from page 16, thus also affecting page 115; small marginal nore, same article, page 17 (did Miller do an article on The Detector for his "Saucers" magazine?); Thus, just Very Good.
