F. W. Cheshire, Melbourne, 1956. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good Condition/Good. 337 pp., acknowledgements and forewarning, sources, notes and topics, glossary and index. Pale green boards with gilt writing on the spine. Minor bumping to the top of backstrip edge and minor amounts of rubbing to the other edges. Browning to the textblock edges and to the internal text. Offset tanning to the free front endpaper and previous owner's ex-libris plate it is also affixed. Illustrated dustwrapper, with white coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. The dustwrapper has some minor chipping along all edges and heavier chipping on the head of spine of the dustwrapper. The dustwrapper has faded. This book was written in 1955 and "it is a description and interpretation of community life in the Australian Commonwealth, the nation that came into being on the first day of this century.".
