NEAR FINE Book, Very Good Dust Jacket. Boards and spine are green cloth with gilt lettering. Dust jacket is price clipped, has age darkening on back fold, some rubbing and minor scratch (did not break the paper), a few chips, age lightening of spine, thin black line across spine (not a remainder mark), two 1/8 inch tears on DJ spine at bottom, minor rub marks on front cover from adjacent book on shelf. Book has minor wear and creases on spine and board edges, and two 1/16 inch tears in spine top, one almost invisible 1/4 inch dent on bottom edge of front board, tiny dot of white paint on bottom corner tip. End pages are a map of the homestead. Very small smudge on back of page 445. Book Club Edition. Rag edge pages. Black/white sketches (wood engravings) by Lucille Oille. Rebuilding an old house in the wilderness.
