Originally published in Italy in 1930 as __L'Arti d'Oggi__, this being a First Edition Thus, in English, that discourses upon the Bauhaus movement and the Art Deco and Modernist trends in architecture, design, and the decorative arts during their heydays in the 1920s. The consummate visual reference. A superior copy inside and out, brand-new, still in shrink-wrap, neither shelf- nor edge-worn, neither sunned nor marked as a remainder, being a sterling condition hardcover copy, with unbruised tips, tight binding, and clean internals, showing no shelf- or edge-wear. This edition, published by Verbavolant, London, 2005, is the first English language edition, translated from the Italian by Lara Fabiano. Under its original title Le Arti e'Oggi, this book was originally published in Italy in 1930. "This near-facsimile edition follows the format of the original exactly, presenting in over eight hundred photographs a dazzling selection of architecture, interiors, furniture and decorative arts produced in Europe throughout the 1920s," says the publisher. Nearly 800 duotone illustrations, and 12 color illustrations. Illustrated dust jacket over brown boards with silver and black lettering to spine. Volume contains scholarly apparatus in the form of, e.g., notes, index, and bibliography. 480 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
