Illustrator: Photographic. forward by the editor, note to the English edition, list of illustrations, photo credits and index. Black-and-white photographic frontispiece, being a reproduction of Victor Vasarelys' " Cassiopee " ( detail ). The text is illustrated with 128 coloured plates and 334 black-and-white plates. Black coloured boards with white publishes' logo to the front panel. White writing to the spine. Illustrated dust wrapper ( wraparound ), showing various modern pieces of art work, against a black background with white and yellow writing on the front panel and white on the spine. Sixteen art specialists, including such reviewers as Sam Hunter, Alan Bowness, Romeo Brest, present an overview of, then, present-day painting and sculpture in Europe, North and South America, and Japan. Very minor bumping to the corners of the spine and to the book corners. Some marks to the cloth of the boards. Browning and foxing to the paper edges. Offset tanning and foxing along with some staining to the endpapers. Internal pages have begun to become slightly aged toned. Original bookseller's sticker to the lower right hand corner of the front paste down. Rubbing and slight chipping to the dust wrapper corners. Slight chipping to the top dust wrapper are spine edge and the laminate is starting to lift to both the top and bottom dust wrapper edges. A hint of fading to the spine. A few marks to the dust wrapper panels. Slight browning to the fold over panels and to the verso of the dust wrapper. Clipping of the dust wrapper, front fold over, lower right hand corner.
