Description:
M. A. Donohue & Co, Chicago, IL, 1922. Hardcover. Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. This is an art book for children. There are numerous illustrations ready to be colored. Many are here twice, one having been colored by the publishers as an example, and the other to be colored by the owner. Others are here only once, with a blank page next to them for the owner to reproduce the illustration and then color it. A couple of the drawings appear to have been colored already, but they were done SO well that I'm not completely sure of that. The book is housed in a box, which has sides and corners that are very worn, but both top and bottom are intact. Virtually impossible to find in the original box. Size: 12mo - over 6 3/4" - 7 3/4" tall. Heavy foxing front/rear pages, but body of book mostly clean and unfoxed. Minor soiling to the cover. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: 1 - 2 pounds. Category: Children; Art & Design; Pictures of this item not already displayed here… Read More

Description:
A little foxing here and there, and some fraying of the spine heads and heels, but all pages clean and tight. One foldout has two small tears.Arguably the greatest diary in English by possibly the world's greatest diarist. This is Henry B Wheatley's 1896/1897 10-volume publication (the diary in 8 volumes, plus the index published in 1924 and the Pepysiana published in 1928). This is the diary the world knew until Robert Latham's and William Matthews' nine-volume definitive edition of 1970-1983.These eight volumes of the diary belonged to and bear the bookplates of Duke Georg Alexander of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (1859-1909), eldest son of Grand Duchess Catherine Mikhailovna and a cousin of Emperor Alexander III of Russia. He was a Major General in the Russian Army, a skilled musician and the founder of the Mecklenburg Quartet.
