Sterling condition hardcover copies, complete in two volumes, with unbruised tips, tight bindings, and clean internals, showing only very slight shelf- and edge-wear; not ex-library, with neither underlining nor highlighting anywhere. Bound handsomely in stamped burgundy paper over boards, titles and authors at front covers and spines. Tall, heavy quarto format, measuring 10 3/4" x 12 1/2" in width and height, respectively. Bright and shiny dust jackets, illustrated, showing only very minor wear, not price-clipped. Housed in a Near Fine condition publisher's original slipcase, paper covers-illustrated, bruised and crimped at top rear corner, else bright and colorful. Volume I is devoted to nearly wholly to Chinese art history, to traditional arts and crafts, to calligraphy, to jade wares, to Indonesian architecture, and to Qin and Han archaeology and to European art historical takes on Asians and Asian art traditions. Volume II is devoted to The Kingdom of the Khmer, engaged in the rich traditions of Thailand, Laos, Burma, and Vietnam, Textiles in Southeast Asia, Japanese art history, Buddhist painting, Momoyama painting, Japanese ceramics, tea ceremony wares, and Korean art history.
