A clean and tight copy with lovely wide margins, in a fine early half white vellum binding by Bayntun of Bath. Spine with gilt floral decoration running lengthways and brown morocco label, lettered, ruled and decorated in gilt. Marbled paper on boards and endpapers. Top edge gilt, others untrimmed. A lovely copy of this beautiful book showing the softer, fantasy side of Brangwyn's work, in a fine Arts and Crafts style binding.

A clean tidy copy bound, for Truslove and Hanson in London, in early half burgundy morocco, spine with a single raised band, dotted in gilt. Compartments ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt. Red cloth on boards. Top edge gilt. A small amount of wear to the extremities and some marks to the cloth boards but still overall a very good, attractive copy.

Finely bound in a beautiful full tan Morocco binding by Bayntun (Riviere) of Bath. Spine with five raised bands, each with gilt decorations. The compartments are lettered, decorated and ruled in gilt. Gilt illustration of a Leprechaun stood next to his crock of gold to the upper board. Both boards with double gilt ruled borders. Marbled endpapers, gilt inner dentelles. Top edge gilt. A fine copy housed in a velvet lined plain clam shell box with blue cloth covering. A fine leather bound copy of this wonderfully illustrated edition.

Minor foxing and creasing to some pages but otherwise a very good copy in recent full deep red morocco binding, gilt ruled borders on boards. Spine with raised bands, compartments decorated with gilt stamps of The Mad Hatter and playing cards. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt.

R. and J. Dodsley, London. - No date. 1760. FIRST EDITION. Two volumes. 8vo. (6.2 x 4 inches). Portrait frontis in volume one. Previous owner name neatly written on blank free endpapers and a name clipped from the top of the title pages, otherwise very good, bright and clean copies throughout. Early full tan calf bindings with raised bands to the spines. Compartments double gilt ruled. Red title labels, gilt. Some minor wear to the extremities but overall very good and attractive bindings. ---- Complete as published, these first two volumes of Stern's Sermons of Mr. Yorrick, published anonymously in 1760, were added to at a later date with another five volumes issued between 1766 and 1769.

Each volume with red morocco title label, decorated and lettered in gilt. Some rubbing and chipping to most volumes and a few hinges cracked but all still holding. Overall an attractive set of eighteenth century bindings. Previous owners bookplate on front paste downs.

A few spots of foxing to the fore edge otherwise a very good clean copy throughout, finely bound in recent half dark green morocco, raised bands, the compartments ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt. Marbled paper on boards. An attractively leather bound copy of this classic of American literature.

This is a very representative copy of the 'Centenary Edition' of the poetry of Robert Burns. Bound by the famous Bayntun (Riviére) bindery in Bath in decorative half leather and cloth covered boards. The spines have five raised bands, gilt lettering on morocco labels and gilt tooling to compartments. Top edges gilt. Bindings remain generally clean, some ligth surface streaks to leather on some boards. Joints rubbed,some cracking mainly to upper joints resulting in a little movement to boards, others remain firm. This the illustrated edition. Dated 1886 on the copyright page of each volume. Text is a little toned but generally clean. A few award cards from the early 20th century have been placed loosely within a couple of the volumes. An exceptional set with great shelf appeal.
