About This Item

New York: Whitehead and Alliger Co, 1936. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo, patterned boards with paper labels on cover and spine, unpaginated, approximately 40 pp., including reproductions of woodcuts, engravings and photos printed on Archer paper. Very good, with bookplate of John Archer, printer, binder and paper expert of the New York Public Library, and probably one of the three developers of this paper: "'Archer' is the product of the brains of three men, a well known printer, a famous book man, and one of the best known paper chemists." -- from the text in this book. Great association copy. John Archer was the chief printer and binder at the NYPL till he retired in 1951. OCLC cites three copies: Yale, Temple, Erie-Buffalo Library.
